Profile

A decade of pulmonary medicine, from Delhi to Coimbatore.

Dr. Arun Gangadhar trained in pulmonary medicine at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, added critical care and ECMO fellowships, and completed an interventional pulmonology fellowship in Malaysia before returning to South India.

He is Consultant Interventional Pulmonologist & Sleep Physician at Sri Ramakrishna Hospital, Coimbatore, where he pioneered the Radial EBUS programme and leads the advanced bronchoscopy and pleural service.

Earlier, at Daya Hospital in Thrissur, he established the interventional pulmonology department, performed the district's first linear and radial EBUS-guided FNA and introduced semi-rigid thoracoscopy for pleural disease.

He holds the European Diploma in Adult Respiratory Medicine (EDARM, 2019), is a member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences, and was part of a team shortlisted in the top three for the BMJ South Asia Awards 2015–16 in pulmonology.
